Are you passionate about your neighbourhood?
Do you want to help create more jobs, boost skills, and expand digital access in Barking and Dagenham, Thurrock, or Havering?
The Thames Freeport Community Ambassador Programme is a unique opportunity for local people to help shape the future of their communities—and we’re looking for residents like you to get involved.
What is the Community Ambassador Programme?
This flexible, volunteer programme offers residents a direct voice in shaping the long-term masterplan for the region. Ambassadors will share ideas, gather community feedback, and support projects.
The programme focuses on three key areas:
- Community input: Bringing resident voices into the planning process to shape relevant, impactful projects.
- Jobs and skills: Supporting initiatives that create opportunities for local people, including apprenticeships, training programmes, and up-skilling.
- Digital inclusion: Helping ensure everyone in the community can access technology, training, and online resources needed for work and daily life.
As an Ambassador you might,
- Take part in community discussions to gather and share feedback.
- Participate in workshops exploring new ideas and development plans.
- Help promote opportunities in jobs, training, and digital access.
- Work with Thames Freeport to align community priorities with regional goals.
We expect to hold four meetings per year and you will be required to attend three before March 2026. Outside of that, involvement is flexible—you choose how and when to contribute. We will review membership on an annual basis.
